The much awaited social network for advertisers and bloggers, SocialSpark is finally live(since some weeks already). I think it’s a great idea and at last bloggers and advertisers can create good relationships with each other, in a friendly social environment. This will certainly make it easier for advertisers looking to sponsor blog posts to find the right bloggers based on their interests, and also vice versa. Plus, you can create avatars too!!
I also created an account as a blogger with them today and submitted FusionFoot.com to get reviewed by one of their staff members before I can take full advantage of their services. They asked me so much detail about my blog, but I filled them patiently. It’s good to know that they are taking every bit of details into consideration.
Check out my SocialSpark profile, and if you want, you can join the community and connect with me.
The guys at SocialSpark also have their own Real Rank for ranking the blogs based on the number of unique visitors and page views, a bit like how Alexa ranks a site. The links will contain the “nofollow” attribute. So, that means the search engines (I mean Google) will be happy and the Google PR is not going to be manipulated. And now, advertisers can move away from looking for search engine benefits from sponsored posts and concentrate more on real traffic and conversion. Blog posts will also require a disclosure badge.
One of the other cool features of SocialSpark is the blog sponsorship, which basically, is an advertisement that pops up and minimizes to the bottom of the display. It’s definitely not one of those annoying popups. Recently, some of the bloggers had some complaints about the width of the advert when it minimizes to the bottom, so the guys at IZEA changed the with. They are actually looking for fruitful comments from their members to continuously improve their system.
Oh, by the way, IZEA is the parent company of PayPerPost and SocialSpark.

Another social network - no, thank you :)
It’s the days of social networks my friend. If it’s not a social network, a site is more likely to fail. Most of the top sites on the web are some kinda web 2.0 site. You should ask yourself, what site not a social net ork these days? ;)
The good old static websites are getting extinct!
By “social network” I mean: register for free, add your photo, add your personal informations, add other photos, create your profile so others could find you even if you don’t want them to find you, add friends, delete friends, watch their photos, vote on them, comment their photos, post stupid photos blah blah blah - sorry, but I don’t see point in these kind of social networks.
I’m using digg.com - to find new content. Comments, photos, friends, etc. - nah. StumbleUpon - I’m using it to find new websites. One again comments, photos, friends etc. - nope, I’m not using these. Both websites have a strict purpose, and a lot of features I don’t need. My point is - I don’t see the point of these features :).
That’s my point too(I guess???)! We don’t need those features but they are social networks and you meet people and make friends(for those you want to). Most of the successful website are social networks. Let me try am make a long list of such sites:
Youtube
Blogger
Flickr
MyBlogLog
BumpZee
BlogCatalog
Digg
StumpleUpon
Hi5
Facebook
MySpace
Reggit
Twitter
LinkedIn
Technorati
FriendFeed
43things
and now SocialSpark.. it has a purpose and social networking is just one of the many features.
… and the list goes on and on
… and probably many more to come in future
