In Egypt, a U.C. Berkeley student James Karl Buck got arrested by the police and put in jail while he was photographing a noisy demonstration. You will not believe how the popular micro-blogging website Twitter came to the rescue.
Buck used his mobile phone to type a short message to inform of his arrestation and sent it to Twitter. This message went out to his wide community of friends who contacted the University and the U.S. Embassy and the next day buck walked out of the jail as a free man.
