    I am currently on a campaign for self-improvement. A lot of aspects are involved. One aspect is improving my financial picture. I have over k in savings. I have about k in my 401k. I have no IRAs, and I currently make .50/hour at my job, with a promise of a raise once I receive my bachelor’s degree in engineering. I am 23 years old.

    I am wanting to do anything I can now to build a healthier financial picture in order to assist in other aspects of my life, now and in the future. I can provide more details if need be. Any suggestions?

    • ]]>     I am currently on a campaign for self-improvement. A lot of aspects are involved. One aspect I am working on is improving my academic self. I currently work about 50 hours a week, and I am not sure if I will be able to cut down on hours. Currently, I am employed as a para-professional, with a promise of promotion to professional status once I receive a related bachelor's degree.

    I graduated with a BS in biological sciences and I am wanting to expand upon that in the future.

    Currently, I am focusing on finishing engineering. The problem is my work schedule and how it doesn't fit into the regional engineering school's marketing plan. I am a non-traditional student. They want overacheivers, and are trying to accomplish this by having those who are driven to succeed "influence" the others. For example, many engineering students live together, separate from the rest of the university. This is now expected and required. Is there any chance I can pursue distance education for BS?
    Ideally, the program needs to insure that I can take the engineering licensure exams. I would open to ANY way to accomplish my degree ASAP while taking care of the other obligations in my life.

    The main issue is that classes are scheduled all over the place, meaning it is very hard to get what I need. I can provide more details if need be.
    I have completed general education and engineering intro courses. It is completing the upper division classes that is the problem.

    What I need to find is how I can get state university rates for a distance degree for a bachelor's of engineering, which I cannot find.

    • ]]>     I have a few friends that have started businesses, one a rug and home accessory, and another a furniture business, I have always wanted to own a small furniture and home accent business and have gone to the market in High Point NC and Atlanta Georgia.Buying from the manufacturer is not cheap and the mark up would have to be ridiculas.You also have to make major purchases to carry most lines of furniture. I would be more interested in discontinued or floor samples.They both are very successful and are hush hush about where they get their merchandise. but I do know that they get it dirt cheap and they travel to pick everything up.I am more interested in sofas. Can anyone give me some ideas where to start.
