Some Enlightenments About Entrecard

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

If you read the post about the new 125×125 FusionFoot logo, you will recall I mentioned creating the logo to use on a website called Entrecard. I talked very briefly about it then because I was more excited to show the newly created logo, so today I decided to do some enlightenment about what Entrecard is all about, at least what I understood after using it for 2 days now.

Entrecard Homepage

So basically, Entrecard is a system to use or share internet business cards for telling other blog owners and authors to come and visit your site. This is done by dropping your card on the site where you see the Entrecard widget. Similarly you will also have an Entrecard widget on your site where other users who come across your site can drop their cards and invite you to visit their site. You actually get to see a list of all cards dropped in a row situated at the top of your personal dashboard, so if a card catches your attention you can go ahead and visit the site.

Now the Entrecard widget’s actual use is to sell advertising space in return for Entrecard credits. You get a certain amount of credits for showing an advertiser’s logo or card on your site for a day. You get to approve or decline the advertiser from your dashboard so you can choose whose logo you want to show or not. After the advertiser’s logo has been on your site for a day, it disappears and the next one in queue is showed in your widget.

Most sites I have seen place this widget somewhere at the bottom or middle on the site, but I have placed mine right on the top where it is very visible. I hope that advertisers will realize that they will get more clicks from my site and advertise with me. Well, that’s just temporary though, so that I can gather some credits. So if you want to advertise your Entrecard logo with me, do it now, while the widget is still on top.

At the moment, Entrecard is also collecting information for the pricing in real Dollars for the credits so that in future, if you have unused credits, you can trade them for cash with other users.

I’m back :). Anyway, glad you have written this post, now I finally understand what this whole Entrecard is about - unfortunatelly, I’m not sure how can I use this knowledge… ;)

    Hi Thion,

I guess what you have to do is to actually visit the site and register yourself. You won’t need any special knowledge to figure out what it’s all about and how to use it ;)

But right now I don’t really see the point for me to register - what could I possible plug to my own entrecard? My little blog about psychic abilities? Let’s say this - I just hit the wrong niche lol.

There are surely some psychic wannabes out there who would be interested in your blog :)
