Twitter Explained In Plain English

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

By now, if you haven’t heard about Twitter, it’s very likely that you have been living in a cave or something. Twitter is everywhere, not just on the web but also getting on the news headlines. I also couldn’t resist joining twitter and following people I know and people I have known from their networks.

If you still haven’t figure what Twitter is all about then I found this sweet and simple video on Youtube that explains Twitter in plain English with the help of some “paper images”.

There is no better way of explaining how Twitter hangs between blogging and emailing to keep in touch with your contacts worldwide. I guess that’s why they call it micro-blogging. Sharing those little moments of life (the ones you want to!) with the world kinda makes you feel more active about everything you do, because you know there are others who are following what you are doing.

Oh, I can remember my first experience with Twitter - it was when, a month ago? Now I can’t live with it. I’m using it to post short messages related to new posts on my blog and topics on my paranormal forum. And when I will finally create my huge Paranormal Social Website I’m going to use it to announce news and cool topics.

If you know how, you can drive traffic to your website from Twitter’s public timeline - it’s not much, but it has pretty good targetting. Because public timeline is fast and most of people won’t click every link or even read it, but there is a chance that people interested in your topic will notice your ‘twit’, click your link, start observing, blah blah.

But if you will use the famous “do-not” method, then you might drive more traffic. Umm… mind in chaos ;).

For the time being, I’m just “following” others and posting updates about my latest blog posts once a while.

I believe those who “twit” a lot and have a lot of followers can get some visitors from twitter.

I’m not aware of any “do not” method on twitter (yet!), but anyways I’m a white hat person, so won’t be using that although I’m curious to know.

Oh, this “do-not” method is working everywhere, not only on Twitter - it’s pretty simple, people tend to do something you’re asking them not to - if you will post “do not click here” and put a link under this text, they WILL click :), because this is the human nature - trust the Psychic lol. Enough of talking, go use this knowledge :D

Oh, that’s what you mean! I thought you were talking about some “do not” black hat method. Well, yea I also do know a little about such psychological triggers, but I’m no psychic :-P

Being a psychic means “to study the mysteries of human mind”, this include psychology :).

The mysteries of human mind? Mine is more like a maze or labyrinth with no way out :D
