I have become a big fan of Wordpress blogs now. As you might have noticed, even FusionFoot.com is powered by Wordpress. When I first discovered the world of blogging about 2 years ago, I couldn’t get a go of any blogging platform, I was so used to static websites then.
The only blogging I found easy to use then was Google’s blogger/blogspot. Then, I got to know Typepad and Wordpress blogs. Typepad is not bad too, but I personally think one has to be more familiar with the technical side. Wordpress is much easy and the best part is that there are so many plugins and themes available.
So, where do you get your Wordpress themes from?
I have never(not even tried to) designed a theme from scratch, simply because they are so many of them freely available i didnt find the need to. I get my Wordpress themes from WPThemesFree.com. They ahve a large collection of free themes that you can download and use for your own blogs.
They are arranged within directories and you can use their advanced search feature to find the theme that suits your needs. They even have a formula called the Wordpress Theme Sparkling Index(WTSI) to determine the best upcoming themes in their database.
If you are looking for a WP Theme, go ahead and check them.

In most cases I am implementing ‘my own version’ of Wordpress, with different features, options etc. so I’m forced to design my own themes because none of these free are up to my own standards.
Next thing is by designing my own theme I’m creating a brand of some sort. And finally I love designing themes for Wordpress :).
Like I said, I am yet to design my own theme. Then again, the free ones do the job for me, so I don’t think I’ll be designing a WP theme anytime soon. ;)
I prefer to use unique blog designs, but nothing beats free.
